Well, if the Body Shop are right when they claim that industrial hemp is very low on actual mind-altering substances, then I'm fine with it. Making drugs legally isn't commercially viable anyway when there are blackmailed third-world farmers you can abuse. Also, I've heard that tobacco plants can be very useful and beneficial, yet they are mainly used in the most toxic way possible... people sure are stupid...

This reminds me of an artist in Sweden who got to borrow bunches of (plant) pots of industrial hemp to display, and the police gave him free publicity by going ahead and destroying the plants without being provoked - he had previously applied for a permit and I even think he got one. (There have been other cases of industrial hemp being taken by the police, but it's grudgingly about to be accepted here because the EU is pushing us.) It was a bit hard to take his whining seriously though, considering that he very likely had something like that in mind.
